PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE

Please take notice that the Maine Army National Guard (MEARNG), DFE Building 8, Camp Keyes, Augusta. ME 04333, telephone (207) 430-5926 (contact Mr. Barry Turcotte), intends to file an application to amend its Air Emission License with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) pursuant to the provisions of 38 M.R.S.A., Section 590 on July 10, 2017. The application updates changes that are being made to various building boilers and hot water systems used by the MEARNG. These changes involve upgrades to older systems to increase fuel use efficiency while reducing dependence on the use of #2 fuel oil. All of these facilities are located on properties maintained by the MEARNG at the Bangor International Airport in the City of Bangor, ME. According to Department regulations, interested parties must be publicly notified, written comments invited, and if justified, an opportunity for public hearing given. A request for a public hearing for the Board of Environmental Protection to assume jurisdiction must be received by the Department, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is accepted by the Department as complete for processing. The application and supporting documentation will be available for review at the Bureau of Air Quality (BAQ) DEP offices in Augusta, (207) 287-8105, during normal working hours. A copy of the application and supporting documentation will also be available at the municipal office in the City of Bangor, Maine.
