SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENT RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE

State & Federal Special Education regulations provide the right for parents to request that their child's records be turned over to them or destroyed when the district no longer needs the records to provide educational services or to demonstrate that the district has provided free, appropriate educational services. Regional School Unit 24 Special Education office retains students' records until the student reaches age 27. Students who are now age 27 may obtain their records by calling 207-422-2017 x108 before August 20, 2018. Proper ID is required for records to be released. We are located at 2165 US Highway 1, Sullivan, ME 04664. On August 27, 2018 the student records will be destroyed. June 30, July 7, 2018

Northern Light Medical Transport is submitting an application to the Maine Board of Emergency Medical Services to license as a 911 Transporting Emergency Medical Service provider with a primary service area of Penobscot, Somerset, Piscataquis, Aroostook, Washington, and Hancock County (all towns). The service will be licensed at the Emergency Medical Technician level and permitted to the Paramedic level. Northern Light Medical Transport will respond to any and all types of medical emergencies when requested by calling 911, if the service is designated as the 911 provider by that municipality. Northern Light Medical Transport will be the transporting ambulance service. Weyerhaeuser Company will be conducting the site preparation phase of its 2018 Aerial Forestry Herbicide Project in Maine beginning on, or about, July 10, 2018 and continuing until about August 15, 2018, circumstances permitting. The purpose of the project is to prepare sites for tree planting. The herbicides Accord XRT, Arsenal AC, and Oust XP will be used. These herbicides act specifically on plants and have been approved for use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Maine Board of Pesticides Control. The 2018 site preparation program will involve application of herbicides to 39 carefully selected sites on about 740 acres of company land in Somerset County. Applications will take place in the following unorganized townships: Big W TWP, Brassua (T2R2 NBKP), Chase Stream TWP (T1R6 BKP WKR), Long Pond TWP (T3R1 NBKP), Sandwich Academy Grant (T2R1 NBKP), Soldiertown TWP (T2R3 NBKP), Thorndike TWP (T3R2 NBKP), West Middlesex Canal Grant (T1R3 NBKP) Weyerhaeuser Company has established human health and environmental safety procedures to ensure the proper use of herbicides and to minimize public exposure. All applications will be completed in accordance with an EPA registered product label and in compliance with all regulations of the Maine Board of Pesticides Control. Weyerhaeuser Company uses herbicides only when necessary and appropriate and in accordance with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI®) Standard.
