The Bangor Target Area Development Corp. (BTADC) is requesting qualifications for Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) for Target Technology Center Laboratory Renovations, located at 20 Godfrey Drive, Orono, Maine. The submitted RFQ will include a guaranteed maximum not to exceed price. The project is partially funded by U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) funds. The CMAR and its subcontractors will be required to comply with all Federal Regulations, including Davis-Bacon, etc. A bid security will be required consisting of a 5% Bid Bond or a Certified Check in lieu of the Bid Bond, as well as Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the value of the work.
RFQ submissions will be received at the office of Carpenter Associates, 687 Stillwater Avenue, Old Town, Maine until 11:00 A.M. local time on October 24, 2016.
Hard copies along with a pdf copy of the RFQ Documents may be obtained at the office of the Engineer: Carpenter Associates, 687 Stillwater Avenue, Old Town, Maine 04468 (207-827-8001) upon payment of $40.00 (Non-refundable). Only those companies who purchased documents will be eligible to submit a proposal.
Scope of Work Summary:
The project will renovate approximately 2,900 sf within the Target Technology Center to create wet laboratory and research support space. The Authorized Scope of Work for this project includes:
a) Interior demolition of existing flooring, ceilings, walls, ductwork, and piping;
b) Construction of walls, doors, ceilings, and flooring; and
c) Installation of sinks, cabinetry, compressed air systems, electrical controls, HVAC systems and lab-specific fittings and equipment.
A Site Visit is scheduled for October 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Target Technology Center, located at 20 Godfrey Drive, Orono, Maine. This will be the only scheduled time contractors will be able to visit the site to review existing conditions.
