SECTION A NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Bids are requested for the FINSON ROAD SIDEWALK PROJECT MDOT PROJECT NUMBER STP-2166(100)X The project includes constructing a new sidewalk starting at Blue Hill East and extending northerly along Finson Road to Davis Road. This project is an MDOT project that will be locally administered by the City of Bangor. The Finson Road Sidewalk Project is Maine Federal Aid Project No. STP 2166(100)X, MDOT WIN 21661.00, located on Finson Road beginning at Blue Hill East and extending northerly 0.38 miles to Davis Road, Bangor, Maine. For consideration, the attached bid form sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked " FINSON ROAD SIDEWALK PROJECT " must be received at the Office of the City of Bangor Purchasing Agent by 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2018. A prebid meeting will be held on May 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the City of Bangor's Engineering Department, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price will be required in the form of cash, a certified check or bid bond. This project is subject to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wage Rate Determination. All work shall be governed by State of Maine Department of Transportation, "Standard Specification", revision of November 2014, and "Standard Details", revision of November 2014. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities or defects in bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. Bases of award of Contract is determined by the lowest qualified bidder. The lowest bidder must have successfully completed a Highway, or project specific prequalification for Bangor to be considered for the award of this contract. Specifications may be obtained at the Engineering Department, City Hall, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine 04401, for a one hundred dollar ($100.00) charge. If plans need to mailed, a additional fee of $40.00 will be charged. April 25, 2018
