[font=font36821]WAIVER:[/font] ME0276-Elderly and Adults with Disabilities Waiver
[font=font36821]CONCISE SUMMARY:[/font] The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is planning to amend the Home and Community-Based Services waiver, known in Maine as Section 19 or the "Elderly and Adults with Disabilities Waiver". This waiver supports members in their homes who are elderly or who need physical assistance. DHHS is proposing to make changes to comply with legislative directive P.L. 2017, Ch 284, §§ MMMMMMM-1. This increases funding for home-based and community-based personal care and related services. The increased rates are effective July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. Appendix J reflects the temporary rate increase in the fifth year of the waiver.
As part of these changes, CFR 42 §441.304 requires a noticing period to inform the public and accept input on these changes. DHHS is accepting comments from January 15, 2018 through February 13, 2018.
