STATE OF MAINE ) SUPERIOR COURT WASHINGTON, SS ) CIVIL ACTION ) Docket No. SC-RE-16-6 ) CAMDEN NATIONAL BANK, SUCCESSOR ) BY ACQUISITION OF CALAIS FEDERAL ) SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION ) ) ) Plaintiff ) v. ) DAVID T. BROWN AND DAWN L. BROWN ) ) Defendants ) And ) ) VL TAMMARO OIL COMPANY, INC. ) Party in Interest ) ORDER APPROVING SERVICE OF PROCESS BY PUBLICATION The plaintiff, Camden National Bank ("CNB"), has filed a complaint against Dawn L. Brown ("Brown") to foreclose a mortgage on certain real estate at 101 Summit Street, Baileyville, Maine (the "Property"), which mortgage was recorded in the Washington County Registry of Deeds in Book 2997, Page 274. CNB has demonstrated due diligence in its efforts to locate Brown in order to have her served in hand the summons and complaint in this matter; despite those efforts Brown's location cannot be ascertained; and service by publication in the Bangor Daily News is reasonably calculated to provide Brown sufficient notice of the pending action against her and her interest in the Property given that the best information available indicates that she likely resides in Washington County. Accordingly, a copy of this Order shall be published once a week for three successive weeks in the Bangor Daily News, which shall provide Brown with notice that a lawsuit has been commenced against her in his matter. Brown must each prepare and serve a written answer to the lawsuit within 20 days after service by publication. This 20-day deadline shall commence 21 days after the first publication of this order, which publication must occur on or before the date that is 20 days from the date of this order. Brown's answer must be served on counsel for CNB, Christopher L. Brooks, P.O. Box 4600, Portland, ME 04112-4600 and filed with the Washington County Superior Court, P.O. Box 526, Machias, ME 04654. If Brown fails to serve an answer within the time stated above, a judgment by default may be entered against her and answer for money damages and foreclosure of the mortgage secured by the Property. If Brown wishes to oppose this lawsuit, she should not fail to answer within the required time. So ORDERED. Dated: April 19, 2016 /s/ Hon. Bruce Mallonee Justice, Maine Superior Court April 29, May 6, 13, 2016
