Bids are requested for the [font=font36821][u]WATERFRONT WALKWAY PROJECT[/u] [u]MDOT PROJECT NUMBER STP-2176(700)X[/u][/font] The project includes replacing an existing gravel walkway along the waterfront with an 8' wide paved walkway and new concrete block gravity wall, rail and rip rap stabilization along with new lights, and park benches. A portion of the project also includes the construction of a new 6' wide sidewalk along a portion of Front Street to connect the waterfront walkway to Front Street, along with new ada compliant sidewalk ramps, new curbing and pedestrian crossings, which includes a crossing across railroad tracks owned by PanAm Railways. The Waterfront Walkway Project is Maine Federal Aid Project No. STP 2176(700)X, MDOT WIN 21767.00, located on Front Street, Bangor, Maine. For consideration, the attached bid form sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked [font=font36821]" WATERFRONT WALKWAY PROJECT "[/font] must be received at the Office of the City of Bangor Purchasing Agent by [font=font36821][u]2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2017.[/u][/font] A [font=font36821]prebid meeting[/font] will be held on November 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the City of Bangor's Engineering Department, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price will be required in the form of cash, a certified check or bid bond. This project is subject to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wage Rate Determination. All work shall be governed by State of Maine Department of Transportation, "Standard Specification", revision of November 2014, and "Standard Details", revision of November 2014. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities or defects in bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. Bases of award of Contract is determined by the lowest qualified bidder.
