NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Bids are requested for the
BROADWAY RESURFACING III PROJECT
MDOT PROJECT NUMBER STP-1863(900)X
The project includes the milling and placing new hot mix asphalt surface on a portion of Broadway in Bangor, Maine, and will include some catch basin replacement, curb replacement, sidewalk overlay, and sidewalk detectable warning ramps, pedestrian signal upgrades, along with other incidental work.
The Broadway Resurfacing III Project is a Maine Federal Aid Project No. STP 1863(900)X/, MDOT WIN 18639.00, located along a portion of Broadway starting at Center Street and extending westerly 0.74 miles to just past Husson Avenue, Bangor, Maine.
For consideration, the attached bid form sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked
" BROADWAY RESURFACING III PROJECT "
must be received at the Office of the City of Bangor Purchasing Agent by 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
A prebid meeting will be held on May 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the City of Bangor's Engineering Department, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine.
Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price will be required in the form of cash, a certified check or bid bond.
This project is subject to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wage Rate Determination. All work shall be governed by State of Maine Department of Transportation, "Standard Specification", revision of November 2014, and "Standard Details", revision of November 2014.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities or defects in bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. Basis of award of Contract is determined by the lowest qualified bidder. The lowest bidder must have successfully completed a Highway, or project specific prequalification for Bangor to consider the award of this contract.

Specifications may be obtained at the Engineering Department, City Hall, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine 04401, for a one hundred dollar ($100.00) charge. If plans need to mailed, an additional fee of $40.00 will be charged.
