The Washington County Commissioners are requesting proposals from public accounting firms to conduct annual audits of Washington County government and the Unorganized Territories of Washington County.
The RFP covers audit services for three years (including the A-133, if necessary), and includes the following periods:
- Washington County Government - Fiscal Years Ending December 31, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
- The Unorganized Territories of Washington County - Fiscal Years Ending June 30, 2017 and 2018.
The Commissioners reserve the right to cancel audit services prior to the start of any audit.

Proposals must be in a sealed envelope and marked "Proposal for Audits of Washington County Government and the Unorganized Territories of Washington County - DO NOT OPEN"; and received in the office of the Washington County Commissioners, PO Box 297, Machias, ME 04654 no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2016. Proposals will be opened and reviewed at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in the Commissioners conference room at 85 Court Street, Machias, ME. Staff recommendations for contract award will be presented at the monthly County Commissioners meeting at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016.
The Washington County Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any or all proposals.
